Quarry and Victorian Tiles

For fantastic looking hallways and garden paths, quarry and Victorian tiles can create a tremendous impact, particularly if they are in keeping with the general design style of your home. These types of tiled paths suit the many Victorian Terraced houses found all around the UK. There is an amazing range of intricate geometric designs that are possible in any number of colour combinations imaginable.

The example to the right shows a simple black and white Display of this kind of traditional tiling, but designs can consist of upto 5 colours such as Olde English's Grasmere Design, whilst choosing a mix of only two colours in the same design can create a more contemporary feel.

Some of their geometric designs have a feel of the work of the mathematical German Artist MC Esche, or the British geometric artist Bridget Riley, such as the Grafham Design.

Entire Footpaths and Hallways in Victorian Tiles can be quite costly. If you have Victorian tiles in place already that are looking worn, with some odd tiles broken, then you may not need to replace your entire walkway, but rather replace with spare parts.

There are a small number of companies offering this service in the uk. Once replaced you may want to find some way of artificially aging the tiles you have added, to bring them in line with the same tile colours of your existing tiles.

A huge variety of shapes, sizes and colours of Victorian Tiles are available, so you should be able to find your perfect match!!
