Mirror Tiles are a brilliant choice if you have a small room which you want to reflect maximum light in, without using actual mirrors to achieve this effect. They can be used to great effect in both bathrooms and kitchens.
In kitchens mirror tiles can work well placed underneath wall hung kitchen cabinets to minimise the effct of any dark shadow.
Mirror Tiles are available as large tiles, and also as mosaic tiles, as square tiles and rectangular tiles. For an interesting effect a brick style approach to mosaics ads a new level of depth. Also coloured mirror tiles can add a further dimension. When supplied as mosaic mirror tiles, they are often placed on a mesh backing which makes them easy to fit, particualry on large areas. Mosaic tiles make a good choice for fitting on surfaces which are not flat such as pillars or any concave or convex surface, as they can be easily shaped to fit.
Mirror tiles also have great commercial applications such as in shops and in nightclubs & bars, in all cases managing to increase the perception of space in these environments.
Also to consider are metal tiles and metallic effect tiles. These are a more modern take on mirror tiles, and can be used equally well in the kitchen as the bathroom. They are a good choice for kitchen splash backs, for around shower enclosures, and as a border around bathroom mirrors themselves.
Another type of reflective tile that can work well are sparkling quartz tiles, which help provide an illusion of space without the same degree of definition found with mirror tiles.
To fix Mirror tiles, always use a epoxy based adhesive, this will prevent any bleeding into the tile once fixed. One that is used widely is Litochrom Starlike tile and grout.
